Most international flights to Norway land at Oslo Gardermoen. After a long flight, few people want to work out ticket machines in a language they don't read. This guide compares every way into the city, with honest pros and cons, so you can decide before you land.

Airport express train (Flytoget)
The express train leaves from the platforms directly below the arrivals hall. Follow the signs after customs; you do not need to go outside. Trains run every 10–20 minutes and stop at Oslo Central Station (Oslo S), National Theatre and further west.
Buy the ticket in the app, at the machines on the platform, or simply tap your contactless bank card at the gate. Do not buy it on board.
It is the fastest option if your hotel is close to Oslo S or the National Theatre. It is less convenient with children, several suitcases or skis, because you still need a taxi or a walk from the station to the hotel.
Regional train (Vy)
The regular trains run by Vy use the same platforms and take only a few minutes longer than the express train, for roughly half the price. They run less often and can be crowded at rush hour. Make sure you buy a Vy ticket: express train tickets are not valid on Vy trains, and the other way round.
Airport bus (Flybussen)
The airport bus stops outside the arrivals hall and drives to several stops in the city, including some hotels. It takes longer than the train, but it can drop you closer to your hotel if you are not staying near the station.
Taxi from the rank
Taxis wait outside arrivals. Norway does not have one regulated taxi price, so each company sets its own. Most offer a fixed price from the airport to the city; ask for it before you start the trip and check that the car shows the company's name. Late at night and at weekends, the price is often higher.
Private transfer
With a pre-booked transfer your driver tracks your flight, waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign and helps with luggage. You know the price before you land, and the car fits your group and luggage.
- Taxi: up to 3 passengers, a licensed taxi at a fixed price.
- First Class: for business travel or a special trip.
- Business Van: up to 7 passengers with luggage; good for families with car seats.
- VIP Sprinter: up to 17 passengers; often cheaper per person than several taxis.

Is there transport from Oslo Airport at night?
Trains and buses run less often in the middle of the night, and there can be a gap of a few hours between about 01:00 and 05:00. Taxis and pre-booked transfers run around the clock.
How much is a taxi from Oslo Airport to Oslo?
Most companies charge a fixed price of about 700–1 200 kr per car to the city centre, more at night. A pre-booked transfer from Oslo Airport has a fixed price per car, so it is often cheaper per person for 3 or more people.
